TL494 PWM Controller

The TL494 is a fixed frequency, pulse width modulation control circuit designed primarily for SWITCHMODE power supply control. The IC is used for the control circuit of the PWM
switching regulator. The Device consists of 5V reference voltage circuit, two error amplifiers, flip flop, an output control circuit, a PWM comparator, a dead time comparator and an oscillator. This device can be operated in the switching frequency of 1 KHz to 300 KHz

The uncommitted output transistors provide either common-emitter or emitter-follower output capability. The TL494 device provides for push-pull or single-ended output operation, which can be selected through the output-control function. The architecture of this device prohibits the possibility of either output being pulsed twice during push-pull operation.
